Dana McCauley & Associates is a boutique consultancy firm that specializes in recipe and food product development. Our core team is small and has been consciously assembled to include people with skill sets that synergize to provide a unique and credible offering. In addition to our core team, we bring in experts on a freelance basis when specific skills are required to complete a special project. Many of our core and extended team members have written books and articles in their area of expertise.

Dana McCauley | President
In her role as a freelance food writer, Dana McCauley crafts cookery and other food related magazine and newspaper articles. Dana is the former food editor of Gardening Life, Homemaker's and Style at Home magazines; currently she is the daily food blogger for homemakers.com and a contributor to Chatelaine and Canadian House & Home Magazines. She also contributes frequently to Cooking Light, one of America's top selling food magazines. These experiences, coupled with her success as a cookbook author, make Dana keenly sensitive to evolving consumer tastes.
Dana has also gained prominent stature as an international corporate food consultant by accurately forecasting trends in her quarterly email newsletter Topline Trends and by delivering quality creative services to her clients. By monitoring the US, Canadian, Asian and European food scenes she tracks emerging trends that will have an impact on future grocery innovation. Her leadership and expertise are key factors in the success of her team. She excels in the realms of grocery product development, recipe writing and interpreting research into action.
Recognized as an expert by her peers and the media alike, Dana McCauley is often called upon to speak about food trends and opportunities for food manufacturers. Dana has addressed audiences at the Smithsonian Institution as well as at events held in cities from Honolulu to New York City. Television shows such as CNN, Canada AM, Fortune Hunters, Fox News, The Today Show, and Leeza Gibbons have all featured Dana and print journalists at magazines such as Newsweek and McLean's often interview her as well.

Amy Snider, PHd Ec | Vice President, Sensory Excellence
With an academic background in nutrition science and corporate experience as an accredited professional home economist, Amy Snider brings an authoritative health perspective to the Dana McCauley & Associates Ltd. team. An inspired concept architect, Amy supervises and manages the Sensory Excellence Program.
Amy Snider has developed nutrition programs and guided food marketers at companies such as H.J. Heinz, DineWise and Clover Leaf Seafood to use health and diet messages responsibly and meaningfully. She employs a battery of nutrition databases and has contacts at the CFIA, USDA, FDA and ADA with whom she frequently consults to help our clients make responsible claims that can help consumers to lead healthier lives. One of her areas of expertise is advising clients about how to comply and work within official guidelines as they position their products in health and nutrition niches.
Amy Snider is also involved in public education. She speaks about healthy eating and nutrition to groups such as the Osteoporosis Support Group and the Canadian Diabetes Association. She was involved in developing for national use an informational video for Community Care designed to teach senior citizens about nutrition. She has been a guest on numerous television shows including Breakfast Television, The Mom Show, Daytime Toronto and Global Morning News. Amy's nutrition knowledge and excellent recipe writing skills are showcased in her cookbook, Fiber Boost, Everyday Cooking for a Long, Healthy Life (Key Porter 2004).
Sabrina Falone | Test Kitchen Manager
As a professionally trained chef, Sabrina Falone is well-suited to her job as our Test Kitchen Manager. Her approach is always thorough, accurate and creative. After graduating from the Liaison College of Culinary Arts program (Brampton Campus), Sabrina Falone augmented her studies with the food writing course at George Brown college.
From ideation, product development, recipe testing, writing and editing to supervising the production of taste test samples for our company's numerous clients, Sabrina Falone is intimately involved in every facet of our recipe and product development projects. During her 5 years as part of our team she's worked on projects for Clover Leaf Seafood, McCain's, High Liner, and H.J. Heinz.
Sabrina Falone also teaches cooking classes at the LCBO and Upstairs at Loblaws and, when time permits, does foodstyling for television.
